We’re looking for a “Ministry Assistant” to work with our Pastoral Leadership Team. This individual will be responsible for our welcome ministries and assimilation, as well as assisting with administrative matters. (S)he will report to the Senior Pastor.
Lead the Sunday morning welcome team (Ushers, greeters, welcome table, etc). Includes recruiting, training, scheduling, and appreciating volunteers. Be personally present on Sunday mornings to manage the “front of house” for our church.
Manage the welcome and assimilation process for newcomers, with the Associate Pastor, including written communication pieces to visitors and the “Welcome Lunch” and “Grace 101” events.
Manage the Senior Pastor’s calendar. Schedule appointments with individuals and groups.
Manage the Senior Pastor’s email inbox by responding to some emails, sorting others, etc.
Strong recruiter and trainer of volunteers
Can create and maintain organizational systems for our church.
Communicates well, in person and in writing.
Above average at learning new technology.
Proficient (or can quickly self-learn) the following products: both Mac and PC operating systems, Google Drive, Dropbox, Doodle.
Loves Jesus and believes in the mission, vision, values, and beliefs of our church.
High-capacity to accomplish tasks and is able to continue to work effectively under pressure.
Take instruction well and is proactive about understanding both the “how” and “why” of directions.
Demonstrates humility - in relationships with others and in hunger for continual learning.
Able to anticipate and take action to avoid problems down the road.
Able to keep confidences well.

This is a part-time role of about 14 hours/week, including 5 hours on Sunday mornings.
