ONGOING GROUPS

Life Group - Winter Bible Study - Philippians

Stress. Deadlines. Commitments. How can we find joy when life feels like a pressure cooker? Paul's letter to the Philippians shows what it means to follow Christ when the going gets tough. We'll learn how Christians can experience joy that is authentic and enduring even when life turns up the heat.

Starts: Tuesday, January 23 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm

Friday January 26 from 9:30 - 11:00 am

Both studies meet in the Offshore Room.

Life Group - Impressions "Mommy & Me"

Wednesdays 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

For more info, go to our Grace Kids Ministry page.

Life Group - Needleworks

For those who knit, quilt, crochet, scrapbook, etc. Just bring your unfinished projects and join us the second Saturday of the month. We meet in the Sanctuary from 10:00 a.m until 12: 30 p.m.

Our next meeting will be February 10.

Single Women of Distinction

This fellowship group for women from early 20's and up (single, widowed or divorced) meets periodically

for fellowship and fun.  This is a great way to strengthen relationships and to meet new friends. Our next outing will be Sunday, February 25.

Mentoring: Doing Life Together

The best way for mentoring relationships to occur is naturally. However, for women who need assistance, applications are available and women will be prayerfully paired for mentoring. Women can spend structured or unstructured time together for various durations and frequency. Email, texting, face time and Skype could also be utilized for convenience. Titus 2:3-5 tells us why the older women should teach the younger women: so that the word of God may not be reviled. The world is watching and women represent God to the world. We need each other for support and friendship. if you are interested in being a mentor or in being mentored, contact Donna Barr at scrabblebarr@gmail.com.  Click here to print an application.

Lights of Love: Secret Pal Encourager Program

An opportunity to encourage another woman through prayer, notes, and/or small gifts while someone else is doing the same to you. By taking the opportunity to be a secret encourager in these ways, you'll certainly bring the light of God's love into the life of the special woman you'll be matched with. This is an October - May commitment.

Men's Ministry

ONGOING GROUPS

Men's Breakfast Fellowship: March 3

On the first Saturday of the month at 8:30 am we have a men's breakfast at Malainey's Grill (formally known as Malarkey's Grill in the Alamitos Bay landing, just across the bridge from Seal Beach into Long Beach). There's a special speaker, Q&A, and lots of bacon.

This month, Nick Sherwin will be sharing with us on the intersection of faith and business. Nick is a professor in the Crowell School of Business at Biola University and the husband of our new Children's Ministry Director Lois Sherwin. In his teaching role at Biola his focus is on marketing, management and strategy. Nick is also the President of No Pressure Productions, and has previously been the president of a video distribution company. He was also the V.P. of Marketing of two of the nation’s largest advertising and promotional firms, the Director of Operations for LA Cellular and has worked as the Director of Customer Support for Education and Value Added Reseller markets for Apple Computer.  Come learn how we can be men of faith in the business world.

Please call Scott Batstone (562 431-4042) if you plan to attend so the restaurant can plan accordingly or contact Bob Wissmann (562-889-2728) if there are any questions.
