All are welcome to join us on Sunday, November 19 at 5:00 pm in the Sanctuary for an evening of fellowship, worship and thanksgiving. We will begin together in our Sanctuary gathering for a love feast, then separate for a time of foot washing and then return to partake in the bread and cup and worship.
Please provide food items* for the love feast based on your last name:
A-H: Main Dish
S-Z: Salad or Vegetable
*Please bring enough to serve 10 as well as a serving utensil. Label your items with your full name so that they may be returned to you.
Below are some Frequently Asked Questions about our Threefold Services:
WHAT IS A LOVE FEAST?
A simple meal, shared in Christian fellowship. We practice the Love Feast because Jesus shared it with His disciples at the Last Supper. The meal is a fellowship time characterized by His love. Eating together reminds us that some day we will enjoy the ultimate love feast with Jesus. (Revelation 19:6-9)
FOOT WASHING? WHAT'S THAT ABOUT?
"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's fee" ~ John 13:14
We practice foot washing to remember our need for daily cleansing from sin. Foot washing is a symbol of love and a very meaningful time for believers. (The men and women separate for the foot washing and if you would like to observe first that is ok)
WHY PARTAKE OF THE BREAD AND CUP?
Symbols of Christ's broken body and shed blood. We practice the Bread and Cup in obedience to Christ, observing this symbol of love until He returns. This act reminds each believer of the price He paid for us. "For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He come." ~ 1 Corinthians 11: 26
